Massive Illegal Parking Operation in Central Jakarta Intensified

The Central Jakarta City administration is about to crack down on illegal parking massively in eight sub-districts.

Let there be no more illegal parking

Central Jakarta Mayor, Arifin said that besides illegal parking, officers would also target illegal parking attendants.

"Let there be no more illegal parking, especially on main and protocol roads," he asserted, Tuesday (2/4).

To maximize it, this operation involved the Jakarta Transportation Agency and Satpol PP.

"I will take action against them, wait for the release date," he asserted.

Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency's Operation Control Section Head, Haryo Bagus admitted he was ready to follow up on the mayor's directives. Moreover, the illegal parking-prone areas to in eight sub-districts were already in the mapping process.

"We will do it in stages," he stated.

While on Jalan Tanah Tinggi, Johar Baru, around 40 joint personnel were deployed to handle illegal parking and buildings.

Johar Baru Sub-district Head, Ishran Prasetiawan stated many complained about illegal parking because it caused chaos and traffic jams.

"This operation involves Satpol PP, army, police, Transportation Sub-agency, Environment Sub-agency, and PPSU," he added.

Tanah Tinggi Urban Village Satpol PP Head, Darmono explained that during the operation, 12 motorbikes were netted due to illegal parking.

"To them, we impose a penalty of revoking the valve. After this, we will conduct regular monitoring," he stated.
